Formed in 2003 as a result of amalgamation, The Choir now has more than 80 members from more than 20 different WIs in Cheshire.
This very popular Choir has recorded three CDs, raised thousands of pounds for charity, and performed on TV and at many major concerts – including singing ‘Jerusalem’ for the BBC documentary on Calendar Girls, ‘Ten Years On’.
The repertoire covers all styles of singing, including secular and sacred works, and for this performance they have chosen to feature a selection of songs from the 1940s and 1950s to link with the WW2 era. There is plenty of opportunity for audience participation and they will raise the roof!
The Musical Director is Joyce Kirkpatrick, a talented singer and musician and President of Pickmere & District WI; the Accompanist is Alan Woodcock.
This performance will take place in the grounds of the Tabley House Collection, by the beautiful St Peter’s Chapel which recently featured as the location for Tommy and Grace Shelby’s wedding in the hit TV series ‘Peaky Blinders’.
The tea shop will be serving WW2-style packed lunches!
